SI (Sacroiliac) Joint Dysfunction Protocol

Protocol:

Begin with the Basics Course to learn proper tape handling, stretch, and technique. For SI joint dysfunction, progress to the Fundamentals Course for advanced support applications, or Beyond the Basics Course for SI stability taping, we also have an SI application in the Practical Solutions.

  • Use the SI Support application as demonstrated in the Fundamentals, Beyond the Basics courses, or Practical Solutions.

  • For general SI soreness or instability, apply the SI Support application along the sacroiliac region, following the anatomical landmarks as taught in the course.

  • For severe cases, combine the SI Support application with the Back Module Level 2 or 3 application for additional stabilization and decompression.

  • If muscle strain or asymmetry is present, combine with the Back Muscle Relaxation and Decompression techniques targeted over problem areas.

  • For chronic or recurring SI issues, use the Fascia Chain application along the affected fascia lines after the main protocol to address adhesions and dehydration.

Tape Type:

  • Advantage 2" (recommended for most SI and back applications)

  • Advantage 3" (for larger horses, severe cases, or when broader coverage is needed)
