Functional equine taping works best when you have the right tools and the right prep, not just a roll of tape. The EquiTecs Functional Taping Starter Kit was built to remove the guesswork:
- The Teflon-coated scissors give you clean, precise cuts that don’t gum up with adhesive.
- The microfiber towel helps you prep the hair properly so tape actually stays where you put it.
- The Quick Start Taping Guide walks you through real-world applications in plain language.
- The 2-way and 4-way tapes let you match the right tape type to the right objective—comfort, decompression, circulation, or structural support.
Instead of buying random supplies and hoping they work together, this kit gives you a cohesive system that aligns with EquiTecs Functional Taping protocols from day one.

How to Use
- Prep the areaBrush off dirt and loose hair. Use the microfiber towel to remove dust, sweat, and residue. Make sure the hair is clean and dry before taping.
- Plan your objective. Decide what you’re trying to influence: comfort, decompression, circulation, or support in motion. Choose 2-way tape for neurosensory/decompression/circulation goals, or 4-way tape for structural support and stability.
- Cut and handle the tape. Use the Teflon-coated scissors for smooth, rounded corners and clean edges. Avoid touching the adhesive more than necessary. Tear the backing paper, not the tape.
- Apply following the Quick Start guide. Refer to the step-by-step illustrations and instructions in the Quick Start Taping Guide. Apply with the recommended stretch for that application and keep the ends with no stretch. Smooth the tape along the hair to activate the adhesive.
- Monitor and reapply as neededCheck the tape regularly for lifting, debris, or irritation. Remove gently in the direction of hair growth. Reapply according to the guide if the tape loosens or completes its wear period.
